Faculty of Fine Arts

 

The dean’s office of the faculty of Fine Arts has a council that organizes the work of the dean’s office, puts into discussion the students’ progress, attendance and summarizes the marks obtained during the term period. The council consists of 9 members. The faculty of Fine Arts has 5 chairs.

The faculty of Fine Arts has 5 chairs – Chair of Painting, Chair of Sculpture, Chair of Drawing, Chair of Graphics, Chair of History and Theory of Fine Arts.

Professor Khachatur Azizyan was born in 1948 (19/06), in Yerevan. In 1963 he entered and in 1968 he graduated from the department of Painting of Yerevan specialized school of Fine Arts after P.Terlemezyan. In 1968 he entered and in 1974 graduated from the department of Painting of Yerevan State Institute of Fine Arts and Theatre.

From 1975 he worked in Yerevan specialized school of Fine Arts after P. Terlemezyan and from 1991 till now he works in Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts.

From 2008 he is the dean of the department of Fine Arts.

Since 1979 he has been the member of the Artists’ Union of Armenia.

Dean of Faculty of Design and Decorative Applied Arts

Born in 1952 in Yeghegnut (Armenia) Avetik Avetisyan studied at the Yerevan Fine Art and Theatre State Institute. In 1982 he graduated from the institute and in 1984 became number of the Artists` Union of the USSR.

Since 1980 he has participated in many different exhibitions and got diplomas.

In 1995 in Aleppol (Syria) and in 1997 in Moscow Avetik Avetisyan produced his personal exhibition.

In 1985 he turned his attention to book design and illustration working on the Armenian Language text-book for 3-d grade and in 2001 working on  ” Khodedan” by Khachik Dashtentc producing  28 works.

Sculpture, too, began to occupy  a significant  place in Avetisyans artistic endeavour. Since 1994, he has been teaching painting  and drawing  at the Academy Art, Design and Modeling Department and has the rank of professor.
