Professor
Khachatur Azizyan was born in 1948
(19/06), in Yerevan. In 1963 he entered
and in 1968 he graduated from the
department of Painting of Yerevan
specialized school of Fine Arts after
P.Terlemezyan. In 1968 he entered and in
1974 graduated from the department of
Painting of Yerevan State Institute of
Fine Arts and Theatre.
From 1975 he worked
in Yerevan specialized school of Fine
Arts after P. Terlemezyan and from 1991
till now he works in Yerevan State
Academy of Fine Arts.
From 2008 he is the
dean of the department of Fine Arts.
Since 1979 he has
been the member of the Artists’ Union of
Armenia. (Individual Works)
The dean's office
of the faculty of Fine Arts has a
council that organizes the work of the
dean's office, puts into discussion the
students' progress, attendance and
summarizes the marks obtained during the
term period. The council consists of 9
members.

The number of students in the faculty of
Fine Arts is 231, 84 of which study
under the tuition free system, 30 of
them are honours students, 26 of them
are foreign students among them 23
Diaspora Armenians.
A three-cycle system of education
operates within the Academy: Bachelor
program /with 4 years of educational
program/, Master program with 2 years of
educational program/ and Doctoral
program /with 3 years of educational
program/.
Bachelor program comprises the following
subjects in its curriculum. Among the
specialty subjects there are drawing,
painting, sculpture, composition,
perspective drawing, plastic anatomy,
painting technology, basics of
architecture, sculpture techniques and
work with material, type, history of
Armenian art, history of foreign art,
archeology, history of theater and
music, ethnography, museum work, art
criticism.
The humanitarian subjects taught in the
academy are history of Armenian nation,
Armenian language, philosophy, foreign
languages, history of book illustration
and history of foreign literature.
Master program comprises the following
subjects in its curriculum: the
specialty subjects are drawing,
painting, sculpture, composition, basics
of sculpture, work with material,
history of architecture in new period,
history of foreign art in new period,
history of art criticism, review and art
criticism, history of western Armenian
and Diaspora Armenian art.
The humanitarian subjects taught in the
academy are aesthetics, philosophy,
history of Armenian and foreign art,
foreign languages, pedagogy, mythology.
